Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the GI Medical Oncology Clinic on a full-time basis. The APP will provide outpatient care for GI cancers, collaborating with physicians, nursing and the oncology team.

The role emphasizes follow-up visits, toxicity assessments, and coordination of ongoing cancer care with approximately 10–12 patients per day; no procedures are currently required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a master’s degree or higher ARC‑PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• OR Master’s degree or higher in nursing with APN certification and TX nursing authority.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
• Develops and evaluates the patient plan of care with appropriate orders and tests.
• Demonstrates clinical proficiency and collaboration within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
• Provides management, referrals, counseling and education to patients and families.
• Participates in quality initiatives and research protocols to improve practice.
