Job summary

S1 Technology is seeking a System Administrator to be an expert-level technician who thrives in complex environments. You will own onboarding, configure servers and networks, and ensure secure, scalable infrastructure.

This role requires strong Microsoft 365 skills, cloud experience, virtualization, scripting, and the ability to translate business needs into technical tasks while communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• Extensive background in system and network administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Hybrid Identity Architecture.
• Strong networking knowledge with switches, routers, firewalls, and VLANs.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions and best practices.
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end onboarding for new clients: assess environment, document systems, and implement standard stack.
• Plan and execute onboarding tasks including server and network configuration, security hardening, and cloud activation.
• Own project timelines for onboarding and technical initiatives, coordinating with sales and vendors.
• Translate business needs into project plans and technical tasks; ensure smooth handoff to MSP.
• Run project status check-ins with stakeholders; capture risks and adjust scope or timelines.
• Create and maintain documentation for every project, including network diagrams and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to improve security, reliability, and user experience; recommend upgrades.
• Standardize onboarding and processes for faster, smoother client experiences.
