The Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s on‑premises and cloud‑based IT infrastructure. This role ensures system reliability, performance, security, and availability across servers, endpoints, networks, and cloud services. This role supports approximately 350 users and operates with a high degree of independence, owning day‑to‑day system operations while proactively identifying and implementing improvements. The ideal candidate is a technically strong problem‑solver with solid communication skills and a passion for automation, security, and continuous improvement. This role works independently day to day, with escalation and strategic support available from IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure: Setup and install hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Maintain: Keep servers, PCs, and software running smoothly
- Troubleshoot: Diagnose and fix issues in regards to hardware, software and networking
- Secure: Protect data and IT infrastructure from threats
- Document: Keep records of system operations
- Back up: Plan and implement backups for data loss and recovery
- Automate: Use tools to automate repetitive tasks
- Install Software: Install security software, regular organizational software and specialty software upon request
- Configure firewalls and switches
- User and access management: add, remove, update users or passwords
- Maintenance: PC and server updates, along with 3rd party software updates
- Cloud: Office 365(copilot) and Azure setup and configuration
- Continuous improvements: Lead or participate in the long-term design and improvements to IT infrastructure, standards, and processes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of operating systems and ability to use PowerShell
- Advanced, hands‑on experience administering Microsoft 365(Copilot) and Azure
- Advanced experience of Active Directory, Group Policy, and permissions
- Solid understanding of Networking, WAN, LAN, firewalls, switches
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and security practices

Experience & Education:
- 4 – 6 years of hands‑on experience in system administration
- Active Directory
- LAN/WAN networking
- Relevant certifications are a plus:
- CompTIA Network+ / Server+
- Microsoft certifications (Azure, M365, Windows Server)
