Job summary

AmeriBest Home Care, LLC is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to manage the caregiver onboarding process, collect employment paperwork, and ensure ongoing compliance for licensing and credentialing. You will perform background screenings and reference checks and enter data into HR and EMR systems.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with preferred experience in a home care setting.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma.
  • Moderate competency with computers and keyboarding.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • 1-year recent experience in a home care agency or healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee caregiver onboarding, collect employment paperwork and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Data entry for new hires and updates to staff credentials and licenses.
  • Conduct background screenings and reference checks for all hires.
  • Assist onboarding training sessions and deliver packets in person or electronically.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and input data into HR and EMR systems.
  • Follow up with applicants to ensure receipt of credentials and documentation.

Under the direction of the Vice President of Growth, the Onboarding Specialist is responsible for overseeing the caregiver on-boarding process, collecting and processing employment paperwork, maintaining employment records and monitoring ongoing compliance for licensing and credentialing of all associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the team on assigned cases for new Associate On-boarding process to include collecting employment applications, all required HR onboarding documentation, applicant credentials, TB testing, residency requirements, etc.

Proactive follow-up with applicants to ensure receipt of necessary credentials and documentation to meet new hire to start metrics

Data entry new hire and associate termination information; update/maintain database regarding staff credentials, licenses, and other relevant information; and data entry communications with staff on compliance requirements.

Follow up with staff by phone, email, or memo regarding compliance requirements as necessary.

Conduct background screenings such as child abuse, state police, sanctions checks, OIG, social security verification and primary source verification of licenses upon hire, and ongoing screenings in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Conduct reference checks for all new hires.

Assist Onboarding Training classes as needed and/or one on one delivery of onboarding packets either in person or electronically.

Communicate frequently with internal departments regarding the status of caregivers within the new hire process.

Input information into required systems (HHAeXchange, ADP, etc.) as required.

Demonstrates a concerned, helpful, and professional manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

Demonstrate empathetic attitude towards the care of the ill clients and their family members

Computer proficiency- Ability to navigate basic Microsoft Office suite, EMR systems and applicable internet resources per company policy

Able to manage competing demands for time and resources and independently prioritizes work responsibilities

Able to function effectively as a member of a team

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school Diploma

Moderate competency with computers and keyboarding

Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

1-year recent experience in a home care agency or other healthcare field

Exceptional computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, general accounting software, and knowledge of one or more major web-based home health database software program

Experience with ADP and HHAeXchange Software preferred, not required
