ONBOARDING SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

This is a full-time, fully remote position open to candidates based in the United States. Preference will be given to individuals available to work until 6:00 PM ET, as needed, to support clients across multiple time zones. The Onboarding Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for onboarding new clients and performing a significant amount of accounting “clean up” under tight deadlines. This role emphasizes financial accuracy, compliance, meeting multiple client deadlines, and teamwork for efficient operations. Responsibilities of the Onboarding Senior Accountant:

• Assist in onboarding new clients, ensuring their financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Provide comprehensive accounting services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management.
• Prepare month-end close workbooks for multiple clients, including balance sheet reconciliations, culminating in the issuance of monthly financial statements.
• Track and report on restricted funds to prepare a net asset roll-forward.
• Assist with grant management and reporting.
• Manage audits (including single audits): prepare schedules, support during audits, and coordinate final schedules.
• Assist with 990 preparation and other local, state, and federal filings.
• Generate specialized reports to support client decision-making.
• Organize and maintain client files, including prior year audit and tax records.
• Work under the guidance of the controller to assist with analysis, cash flow, and budget preparation.

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA licensure preferred
• Minimum of five years of general accounting experience
• Experience with multiple clients or entities preferred
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with data management, record keeping, and web-based applications
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and QuickBooks Online
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
• Experience in audit preparation
• Ability to function well in a virtual, team-oriented environment
• Willingness to learn SAGE Intacct and other third-party applications
• Ability to work professionally and independently from home
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization.
