Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks a Wastewater Systems Engineer to manage onboard wastewater and potable water systems across our US-Flag fleet. You will oversee daily operations, remote monitoring, sampling, and maintenance programs, and work with shipboard engineers to resolve issues and minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, SOP development, crew training, and ensuring compliance with USCG, FDA, EPA regulations, with regular travel to ships and on-site inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial wastewater treatment systems (fixed media and membrane bio-reactor).
• Experience complying with FDA and EPA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of wastewater systems on ships.
• Operates USCG-approved treatment systems such as miniMBR and MSD.
• Coordinates sampling for regulatory compliance and troubleshooting.
• Monitors systems remotely and responds to critical repairs.
• Develops SOPs and provides shipboard training.
