Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking a Wastewater Systems Engineer to manage the technical operations of wastewater and potable water systems aboard our US-Flag cruise ships. The role includes day-to-day operations, remote monitoring, sampling, and coordinating maintenance, with monthly on-site inspections.

Travel to ships 12–15 days per month, provide shipboard training, develop SOPs, and ensure USCG, FDA, EPA compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial and commercial wastewater treatment systems, including fixed media and membrane bio-reactor systems.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of wastewater treatment systems.
• Operates USCG-approved wastewater treatment systems (e.g., Innovatreat, Scienco/Fast, ORCA MSD).
• Coordinates all sampling for regulatory compliance and system troubleshooting.
• Monitors systems remotely and prevents unscheduled shore side pump outs.
• Manages potable water system operations and chlorination.
