Job summary

Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is seeking an Onboard Sales associate in Bryson City, NC. The role focuses on selling retail merchandise, sharing railroading knowledge, and delivering excellent customer service aboard trains.

The position is seasonal with non-exempt/hourly status. Compensation ranges from $15 to $17 per hour plus commissions, with opportunities to meet sales targets and contribute to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven ability in selling, negotiating, and communicating effectively to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
• 0Must be able to interact effectively with coworkers and passengers, possessing good interpersonal skills.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Capable of handling cash and daily reporting.

Responsibilities

• Interact with passengers to provide suggestive sales and promote retail merchandise.
• Manage time onboard to ensure all passengers have opportunity to purchase.
• Assist in passenger boarding and de-boarding as requested.
• Demonstrate understanding of sales targets and strive to meet goals.
• Provide customer service and answer passenger questions.
• Maintain onboard inventory and records; communicate with retail leadership on sales.
• Maintain professional appearance in GSMR uniform.
• Provide regional history and railroading knowledge to passengers.
• Support flexibility with assigned work schedules.
• Other duties assigned.
