Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks an Excursions Director to lead shore excursions, explorations and transfers across US itineraries. The role involves day-to-day guest interaction, vendor coordination, and brand representation on excursions.

You will manage logistics, brief guests, and coordinate with the Home Office, while supporting on-board sales and guest satisfaction. The position requires long hours, an energetic mindset, and the ability to live aboard for 6–8 weeks with 7 days per week work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, or event management is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Geography preferred.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Responsibilities

• Arrange, confirm and adjust shore excursions, explorations and transfers.
• Be well-versed in cruising region, ports, and excursions offered.
• Accompany guests on daily excursions as a company representative.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors and ground operators for timely service.
• Accommodate highly personalized guest requests (kayaking, golf tee times, private transport).
• Present detailed excursion briefings at cruise start.
• Communicate excursion changes confidently to guests.
• Oversee excursion inventory and invoicing system; manage shipboard logistics.
• Promote on-board sales and brand loyalty programs.
• Report cruise status and guest issues to Home Office regularly.
