Job summary

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad seeks a personable concessions and merchandise team member to service onboard and at remote locations. Duties include handling cash, operating a POS, stocking, and assisting volunteers during events.

This role requires strong customer service, accuracy, and the ability to work varied shifts on trains and at stations. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, cashier experience, reliable transportation, and the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 2 years cashier experience.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication; active listening.
• Able to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Must have own transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Checkout customer and volunteer transactions on POS.
• Record comps and discounts accurately.
• Handle money and balance drawer at end of shift.
• Complete end-of-day drawer reporting and balance POS locations.
• Assist with onboard inventory and event distribution.
• Load/unload train with food, beverage and merchandise.
• Restock shelves and maintain clean work areas.
• Prepare and serve items (e.g., hot dogs, popcorn, coffee).
• Provide excellent customer service and mentor volunteers.
