Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs.

The role involves coordinating train movements, setting safety tools, and supervising crews across active tracks in Rock Springs, WY. The candidate should have 2+ years in a railroad environment (MOW preferred), travel 50–85%, and be capable of completing required trainings.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods of time; sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way department.
• Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report on any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all crew members before they enter the track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
