Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail partners in Rockford, IL.

You will coordinate field operations, communicate safety status with dispatchers and crews, and complete concise daily reports. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a railroad environment, strong use of tablets and smartphones, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel for extended periods (50–85% of time).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination and direct crew safety.
