Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The role operates in a field environment with significant travel, up to 85% of the time, and requires strong safety leadership. The EIC will coordinate job-site activities, maintain radio contact with dispatchers and train crews, deliver thorough pre-job briefings, and enforce all

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones and communication tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to travel for extended periods; sometimes months.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a railroad company; MOW preferred.
• Able to complete federal, client and company training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct clear, concise job briefings with all crew members before track entry.
• Enforce Railroad, State and Federal policies.
