Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The EIC role requires strong communication, field reporting, and the ability to travel extensively to support safety operations and maintain compliant work sites along active rights-of-way in Pensacola, FL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' railroad experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to travel 50–85% of the time.
• Proficiency with tablets, smartphones and communication tools.
• Must complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety measures (derails, track signs, safety tools).
• Prepare daily field reports and document rule violations.
• Coordinate job-site activities and communicate with Dispatchers and Train Crews.
• Conduct clear, concise pre-job safety briefings with crew.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
