National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The EIC role is vital to ensure that work on the rights-of-way is conducted safely, with the ability to travel extensively. The position involves setting up safety tools, preparing daily field reports, coordinating job-site activities, and maintaining clear communication with dispatchers

Qualifications

• Proficient with tablets, smartphones, and communication tools for coordinating train movements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods (50%–85% travel).
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' railroad experience, preferably in maintenance of way.

Responsabilités

• Set up on-track safety tools such as derails and track signs.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Coordinate job-site activities.
• Maintain radio contact with dispatchers and train crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct thorough job briefings with all crew members before entering the track.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
