Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems and state DOTs.

The role emphasizes coordinating safety on rights-of-way and reporting field activities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate at least 2 years in railroad environments, travel readiness, and the ability to complete required safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of tablets, smartphones, and communications tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods, sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum of 2 years' railroad experience, preferably in maintenance of way.
• Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety: set up derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise briefings with all crew before entering the track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
