Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail partners. The role emphasizes coordination, safety briefings, and adherence to regulations, with significant travel across assignments.

The ideal candidate will have travel flexibility, strong communication skills, and railroad operations experience, backed by a high school diploma and required training.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with tablets, smartphones and comms tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination and radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews.
• Conduct clear, concise job briefings with all crew members before entering track.
• Enforce Railroad, State and Federal policies.
