Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. seeks a Machine Operator 1 for field-based work on track equipment.

You will operate, maintain, and repair Loram on-track MOW gear, with supervision in operating and travel modes, adapting to different platforms as required by business needs. The role requires 2+ years in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic operations, safety-focused execution, and ability to document daily reporting and expenses.

Qualifications

• Internal: 3+ months experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment; some assignments require excavator experience.
• External: 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations experience.
• 2+ years demonstrated ability to learn, communicate verbally and in writing and learn best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive job briefings during operations and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct machine inspections, identify problems, and report conditions to supervisor; perform common repairs as instructed.
• Accurately record parts used and report to supervisor; perform routine maintenance per schedules.
• Describe gauge and HMI functions related to machine operation.
• Document and complete daily field reporting, expense reporting, field lodging, and other admin reporting as needed.
