Job summary

Transdev in Knoxville, TN seeks an experienced CDL Bus Driver to transport passengers safely and professionally on established routes. The role requires a valid CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and a proven driving record.

The position offers hourly pay with CDL and non-CDL rates listed, benefits after 90 days, paid holidays, and a 401k plan. You will follow safety protocols, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and assist riders with accommodations.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older
• Valid CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Safety-Focused Operations: Execute safe and reliable transportation services by following designated routes and schedules while strictly adhering to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company standards.
• Passenger Care: Provide courteous, professional assistance to passengers, ensuring safe and efficient boarding, comfortable transportation, and timely disembarkation.
• Vehicle Safety and Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly report maintenance or safety concerns, and maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and safety-equipment readiness.
• Policy and Protocol Compliance: Consistently follow company policies and procedures, including seat-belt enforcement, emergency-response preparedness, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support safe, efficient, and professional operations.
• Ability to safely assist passengers with disabilities, including supporting the use, securement, and transport of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
