Job summary

Nox Metals is seeking an Operations Trainer to onboard new floor employees, uphold training standards, and close skill gaps across material handling, saws, shipping, and software systems. This role is based on the Detroit floor, with an emphasis on hands-on, practical training beside the work and clear demonstrations.

The ideal candidate is a patient teacher who communicates clearly, values safety, and can tailor instruction to different experience levels.

Qualifications

• Patient and credible teacher who helps people improve.
• Comfortable demonstrating work on a manufacturing floor.
• Clear in written and spoken communication.
• Strict about safety and will not sign off incomplete training.
• Organized with records, schedules, and follow-up.
• Able to tailor teaching to different experience levels and learning styles.
• Proficient with software, documentation, and operating data.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new-hire orientation and floor onboarding.
• Teach safety procedures, standard work, material traceability, and software workflows.
• Coordinate equipment training and qualification with leaders.
• Build and maintain training guides, checklists, and skills matrices.
• Observe employees and provide coaching.
• Identify recurring errors and partner to improve processes.
• Track training and renewals before qualifications expire.
• Support retraining after incidents or changes.
• Help supervisors become stronger on-the-job coaches.
