Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery is seeking a Recreation Specialist - Generalist to join our Community Connections team in Aurora, CO. The role partners with a multidisciplinary staff to design and facilitate strength-based activities across SAMHSA’s 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

You will lead on-site programs and community outings, teach life skills, build social connections, and support clients on their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related human services required.
• Previous experience in a mental health setting preferred.
• Excellent intercultural communication and teamwork skills; valid Colorado driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Teach clients life skills to improve mental and physical health.
• Plan and lead community-based recreation and wellness activities.
• Manage activity schedules and coordinate groups.
• Provide 1:1 coaching and group coaching sessions.
• Support clients’ social, coping, and health skills development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and community partners.
