Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) invites you to join our Community Connections program as a Recreation Specialist - Generalist. Work with a multidisciplinary team to design strength-based activities aligned with SAMHSA's 8 Dimensions of Wellness, on-site and in the community.

This fully on-site role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Starting wage is based on experience and equity, with a bi-weekly pay schedule, and hourly wages range from $20.44 to $30.65.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related human services degree is required.
• Previous experience working in a mental health setting is required.
• Valid Colorado Driver's License with driving record meeting requirements.
• Passionate about improving mental and physical health through recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach clients life skills to improve mental and physical health in a supportive environment.
• Encourage community involvement by identifying events that promote health.
• Plan and implement engagement in community events and recreational pursuits.
• Manage schedule of activities and groups for clients.
• Assist with ordering supplies for client activities, groups, or events.
• Provide individualized coaching in 1:1 and small/medium groups.
