Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery's Community Connections program seeks a Recreation Specialist - Generalist to design and facilitate activities that support SAMHSA's 8 Dimensions of Wellness, on-site in Aurora, CO. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to empower clients through recreation and wellness, building life skills and social connections.

The role is fully on-site, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related human services degree.
• Previous experience in a mental health setting.
• Colorado Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Vaccinations and TB test per policy.

Responsibilities

• Teach clients life skills to improve mental and physical health.
• Encourage community involvement through events and activities.
• Plan and implement community engagement and recreational activities.
• Manage activity schedule and supply ordering.
• Provide 1:1 coaching and group facilitation.
• Document in electronic health records and coordinate care.
