Job summary

MSMM Engineering LLC is seeking an Inspector to support Construction Administration services for the Lead Service Line Replacement Program. The Inspector will provide full-time, on-site oversight of water service investigation and construction activities.

The role requires observation of site activities, documenting progress, and coordinating with contractors, authorities, and testing agencies. Procore software will be used to manage project documentation and action items on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Observe all construction activities while the contractor is on-site and maintain continuous field presence.
• Inspect, measure, and track completed work eligible for contractor pay requests in coordination with the Construction Administrator.
• Prepare detailed daily field reports and photograph/document work progress on a daily basis.
• Notify the Construction Contractor and Construction Administrator of any work that may adversely affect utilities, adjacent properties, or surrounding areas.
• Coordinate and monitor work performed by material testing agencies and utility agencies.
• Coordinate and monitor on-site visitors as required.
• Prepare memorandums and documentation required for field changes or plan changes.
• Verify that the Construction Contractor is maintaining adequate traffic control measures and site safety procedures at all times.
• Prepare incident reports and promptly notify the Construction Administrator and Contractor of any safety concerns or potential impacts to the public.
• Document and coordinate with the Construction Administrator and secondary agencies on unforeseen items encountered during construction.
• Utilize the City-provided Procore construction management software to submit, track, distribute, and collaborate on project documentation and action items.
