Job summary

WSP in Columbia, MD is seeking an Inspector I to join our CM Team. The role involves daily site inspections, submittal reviews, and maintaining project records to support construction quality and safety.

The Inspector I will coordinate with owners, clients, and contractors, track progress, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and codes while supporting project timelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma required.
• 0-2 years construction inspection experience.
• Experience in underground water/sewer or related construction preferred.
• Familiar with codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and codes, and maintain up-to-date project records and test reports.
• Review construction quantities and verify for the installed quantity.
• Perform Quality Assurance on the installed materials.
• Act as the Owner’s agent with regards to the construction process.
• Review progression of work to monitor and reconcile against construction schedule.
• Read/Understand contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
