Job summary

Simon & Schuster, Inc. seeks a Warehouse Technology Support Specialist to serve as the on-site technology contact at the Jackson warehouse.

You will support Windows workstations, printers, printers, and packing/shipping workflows, while coordinating with central IT to ensure rapid recovery after incidents or changes. Responsibilities include device staging, on-site installations, basic network checks, MFA, and maintaining accurate asset records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CompTIA A+ certification or hands-on experience supporting end-user hardware and endpoints.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical support with Windows devices, printers, peripherals, and shared technology.
• Working knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, endpoint hardware, MFA, and basic access troubleshooting.
• Basic network knowledge: identify switches/ports, trace connectivity, provide console access, and directed cabling work.
• Ability to work full time on site, document work clearly, collaborate with central IT, move and stage IT equipment, and follow warehouse safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the visible on-site technology contact for warehouse leaders and employees, prioritizing incidents by impact on operations.
• Diagnose, repair, replace, and validate shared Windows workstations, kiosks, printers, monitors, docks, peripherals, and approved warehouse technology.
• Support packing/shipping print workflows through hands-on troubleshooting and validation of output.
• Stage, deploy, recover, ship, and track devices for new hires, replacements, onboarding, and site projects.
• Provide first-level support for Windows 11, Microsoft 365, MFA, and shared-device login issues; route to central IT for advanced tasks.
• Assess wired, wireless, and RF connectivity, document impact, and coordinate escalation to Network Engineering.
• Perform on-site hardware support, including installations, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Support maintenance, deployments, migrations, and recovery activities with local impact communication.
• Maintain asset/location/ownership/status records and keep tickets current.
• Communicate incidents, workarounds, planned changes, and restoration clearly to warehouse staff.
• Identify recurring issues and propose practical improvements to IT leadership.
• Follow security, safety, access, asset-handling, and change-management requirements.
