Job summary

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is seeking an experienced Veteran Support Advocate to help veterans who are homeless or at risk transition into permanent housing. This role requires working with program staff to provide self-help, reintegration, and empowerment tools in the community.

On-site in Harrisburg, PA, you will collaborate with Case Managers and clinicians, monitor safety, complete documentation, and participate in ongoing trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus two years in social services.
• Strong organizational and design skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Must complete a two-week training including Reducing Stigma, Mental Health First Aid, CPR/NARCAN.

Responsibilities

• Assist participant Veterans in transition back into the community with independence and growth.
• Help Veterans access and navigate community and internal resources.
• Provide individual and group support focused on self-help and reintegration.
• Document concerns and report to the supportive housing team in a timely manner.
• Maintain a visible presence within the facility and monitor safety.
• Submit all program documentation promptly.
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Veteran Services Licensed Clinician, and others.
• Implement crisis management strategies when necessary.
