Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an On-site Utilization Management Nurse Team Lead to oversee UM RNs, coordinate care, and ensure clinical effectiveness across the patient continuum. You will work face-to-face with physicians, patients, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize hospital resources in Smyrna, GA.

The role requires Georgia RN licensure, strong leadership, and proficiency with Epic EMR and MCG/InterQual criteria.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Georgia.
• Proven leadership of nursing staff and utilization management teams.
• Strong collaboration with physicians, therapists and admin staff.
• Experience with Epic EMR and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of MCG criteria and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise on-site UM RNs to coordinate patient care across acute, chronic, and long-term stages.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary rounds and real-time clinical decision support.
• Ensure accurate coding, documentation, and hospital throughput.
• Oversee QA and PI activities and staff performance evaluations.
• Train and mentor UM staff and students; manage daily staffing and workflows.
