Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. seeks a Utility-Scale Power & Renewables Project Manager to own commercial, contractual, financial, and administrative success from turnover through closeout on utility-scale projects. Locations include Gilbert, AZ; Prineville, OR and on-site project sites.

Travel up to 20% nationwide; compensation $140,000–$220,000 DOE. Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits. On-site work arrangement; remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience managing heavy civil, solar, BESS, substation, transmission, or underground infrastructure construction in the utility-scale market.
• Demonstrated command of contracts, estimating handoffs, budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and change management.
• Ability to read plans/specifications and translate into execution requirements.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving; willing to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from turnover through closeout with commercial and contractual focus.
• Be primary commercial/contractual contact for customers and stakeholders.
• Establish priorities, deadlines, and clear cross‑department communication.
• Own commitments and identify risks with solutions.
• Own budgets, cost coding, estimates at completion, and cash flow management.
• Review cost vs. budget, earned hours, margin trends, and cost-to-complete.
• Maintain forecasts, explain variances, and implement margin protection.
• Manage progress billings, receivables, and final closeout.
• Identify unbudgeted costs and pursue recovery.
• Lead scope reviews, mobilization planning, and preconstruction readiness.
• Coordinate master schedule, two-week lookaheads, and resource readiness.
• Ensure drawings/submittals/changes reach field leadership.
