Job summary

Dallas College is actively seeking a Staff Tutoring Associate to provide tutoring in open lab and one-on-one settings in support of instructional programs. You will assess student needs, guide practice, and help students develop study skills.

You will build collaborative relationships with students, staff, and faculty, maintain confidentiality, and complete professional development hours each academic year. On-site role with potential hybrid after six months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge/skills in the academic area to be tutored.
• Ability to coach students through course materials.
• Assess student progress during tutoring sessions.
• Build collaborative relationships with students, staff and faculty.
• Flexible, organized and able to manage time effectively.
• Punctual and focused on student needs.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in providing effective customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to Dallas College students in open lab or small groups.
• Guide students through coursework, give constructive feedback and promote independence.
• Help students develop study skills and apply course concepts.
• Maintain records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Attend required Dallas College PD training hours annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned and ensure regular attendance.
