Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a dedicated on-site shop. The role involves servicing trailers, engines, brakes, air lines, and related systems, under supervision of senior technicians.

You will learn advanced skills while contributing to maintenance efficiency and safety. Candidates must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements, bring basic hand tools, and complete company training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT regulations and FMCSA knowledge a plus.
• Ability to perform physically demanding trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures.
• Independently determine parts required and contact parts department.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and tools.
• Assist lead technician with repairs and diagnostics.
• Communicate repair estimates and RO findings to supervisor.
• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on trailers.
