Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic I for our on-site shop operations. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers, including brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, and related components.

We value safety, efficiency, and reliability as you support service writers and field technicians. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and possess a valid driver’s license; ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with up to 2 years related experience.
• DOT inspections and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance in a shop setting.
• Carry out light repairs on trailers, brakes, air lines, pumps, engines and related systems.
• Assist higher-level technicians and learn advanced diagnostic skills.
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings on repair orders using company systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety policies.
