Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer for the Navy NSWCDD Dahlgren site in Dahlgren, VA.

You will design and maintain automated test scripts, craft detailed test plans mapped to requirements, and execute manual and automated testing across levels while collaborating with developers and government customers. The role requires 2+ years in software testing, strong Linux and C++ understanding, excellent communication, and ability to manage multiple tasks on-site five days a week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to link requirements to test cases and manage test artifacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied directly to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate closely with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities.
• Interface directly and professionally with government customers daily.
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation.
