Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support structural steel fabrication operations. You will inspect components to ensure accuracy with shop drawings, contract documents, AISC standards and our Quality Management System.

Responsibilities include monitoring fabrication activities, performing inspections, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring finished products meet specifications and standards. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret structural and erection drawings.
• Strong attention to detail to identify discrepancies and document findings.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures for structural steel and welds.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of erected structural steel.
• Verify compliance with erection drawings, project specifications, and quality procedures.
• Inspect and document bolt installation, pretensioning, welding, and weld certifications.
• Maintain inspection records, maps, and daily QC reports.
• Coordinate inspections with General Contractors and third-party inspectors.
• Exercise stop-work authority when quality requirements are not met.
