Job summary

IDEX is seeking a dedicated Buyer for Cedar Falls, IA to manage daily procurement, quotes, and PO placement with approved suppliers. You will help ensure value, quality, delivery, and inventory targets across assigned commodities.

Candidates should have a college degree and at least 2 years in purchasing; APICS/CPM and negotiation experience are a plus. This onsite role offers collaboration across multiple departments and a chance to impact diverse products.

Qualifications

• College degree and minimum 2 years in a purchasing role.
• APICS or CPM certificate preferred.
• Negotiating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day procurement of assigned commodities.
• Obtain quotations and place purchase orders with approved suppliers.
• Monitor on-time delivery, quality, and inventory objectives.
• Explore Kanban or other inventory programs with leadership.
• Expedite and analyze supplier performance; reduce excess inventory.
• Interface with Viking Pump departments and suppliers to drive improvements.
