Viking Pump, an IDEX company, seeks an experienced purchaser to manage day-to-day procurement for assigned commodities in Cedar Falls, IA. You will review requirements, obtain quotations, and place orders to ensure quality, delivery, and value.

The role emphasizes supplier collaboration, inventory control, and expediting when needed, with a focus on optimizing materials flow and supporting cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• College degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• APICS or CPM certificate preferred.
• Negotiating experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reviews open purchase order reports and monitors suppliers’ on-time delivery and quality performance.
• Identifies commodity groups for Kanban or other inventory control programs; collaborates on implementation.
• Monitors consignment/Kanban releases and coordinates with vendors for changes.
• Expedites products through supplier manufacturing processes as needed.
• Assists in collection and analysis of supplier performance data and supports supplier evaluations.
• Monitors inventory by supplier and works to reduce excess, no demand and obsolete inventory.
• Participates in supplier visits to review quality, delivery and performance.
• Collaborates with leadership and other departments to develop new products or processes.
• Analyzes problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.
