Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, is seeking a Stores Specialist/Receiving Individual to manage receiving, storage, and documentation for kitchen goods. This on-site role requires attention to detail and reliable inventory practices to support safe, organized operations.

Key duties include inspecting deliveries, maintaining stock levels, and processing end-of-day paperwork. The position is essential per some event-based schedules and requires English proficiency and physical capability

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of warehousing, storekeeping or inventory experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• English literacy and ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (4 hours).
• Basic math and familiarity with stockroom procedures.
• Strong organizational and attentional skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect goods; verify quantities and quality against documents.
• Maintain accurate stock records, perform cycle counts, and report needs.
• Store and label items properly; keep clean, safe storage areas.
• Complete paperwork, signoffs, and reports; document damaged items.
• Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
• Follow safety rules and use PPE to maintain a safe workspace.
