Job summary

MasTec Renewables seeks a Site-based Project Controls Specialist to monitor and manage schedules, cost controls, and financial reporting for utility-scale solar projects nationwide. This on-site role is travel-intensive, rotating across project sites in the US, with per diem, vehicle allowance, and potential home visits.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 2+ years in project controls, and proficiency with Excel and Primavera P6. Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years of related experience in project controls or cost scheduling and planning.
• PMI, AACEi, or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor schedule and earned value baselines.
• Maintain the master construction schedule baseline and updates by collecting data from project teams and contractors.
• Analyze schedule performance, critical paths, and delays to recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare project status reports and forecast monthly revenue streams.
• Review subcontractor payments, approve material invoices, and issue change orders.
• Coordinate engineering studies, submittals, RFIs, and change order requests.
• Support project reporting requirements and provide training on project management tools.
