Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a SOC Lead to oversee cybersecurity operations for a DOE/NNSA-focused program, on-site in Manassas, VA and Washington, DC. Lead threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring across critical environments to protect national infrastructure.

The role requires an active DOE Q or Top Secret clearance, 10+ years in cybersecurity with SOC leadership, and strong SIEM/IDS/IPS expertise. Competitive salary and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity, including leadership of SOC or security operations team.
• Strong experience with SIEM, incident response, threat detection, and security monitoring tools.
• Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and team development skills for executive reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent).
• Active DOE Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the SOC team while ensuring 24/7 operational readiness and effective day-to-day security operations.
• Direct detection, investigation, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents; serve as escalation point for critical threats.
• Oversee and optimize security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, threat intel and monitoring platforms.
• Analyze network traffic, system logs, and threat intel to improve detection and incident response capabilities.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and executive leadership to communicate cyber risks and protect critical assets.
