Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our on-site team in Costa Mesa, CA, partnering with Product and Operations to deliver accurate, up-to-date documentation for DoD programs. You will organize engineering artifacts, create manuals, data modules in MIL-STD-40051-2E XML using Raytheon EAGLE, and drive a documentation roadmap with stakeholders while upholding tone and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of XML-based technical documentation, preferably for DoD programs.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation (schematics, CAD, drawings).
• Experience building MIL-STD-40051 compliant content (Raytheon EAGLE / EPS).
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with ability to explain technical subjects clearly.
• Autonomy, responsibility, and ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with strong PM skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; willing to relocate onsite to Costa Mesa, CA.

Responsibilities

• Generate, review, and edit documentation that is user-focused with Engineering and Operations involvement.
• Scope DoD program deliverables and write Data Modules in MIL-STD-40051-2E XML using Raytheon EAGLE (planning migration to RapidAuthor).
• Prioritize tasks to support documentation efforts and drive data-driven decisions with stakeholders.
• Communicate risks, mitigate gaps, and allocate resources as needed.
• Help build a culture of technical documentation and refine the product maturity framework for new systems.
