Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee receipt, storage, inventory, and tracking of construction materials and equipment for a client at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. This on-site role will ensure materials are properly managed, accounted for, and readily available to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in materials management or similar role.
• Knowledge of DOE site regulations and site procedures.
• Strong organizational and logistics skills.
• US Citizen; DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain; Real ID driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment schedules from multiple suppliers and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee receiving activities and verify accuracy against PO and packing lists.
• Track incoming shipments and resolve delays or discrepancies; escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate site ingress for oversized shipments and ensure proper security controls.
• Transfer materials from receiving to warehouse and ensure proper storage and inventory tracking.
• Inform project scheduler of delays, recovery actions, and contingency plans to prevent install delays.
