Job summary

Coastal International Security, Inc. in Los Alamos, NM seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead on-site design management and construction support for large-scale infrastructure and security projects.

You will render the design intent into hardened, high-performing facilities while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and security engineers. This role requires strong technical judgment, rigorous document control, and proven program delivery skills on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of project engineering experience focused on commercial infrastructure, civil works, or high-security and government-adjacent facilities.
• Hands-on experience with ProjectSight (or equivalent), Delta cost tracking, and Aproove (or equivalent)
• Exceptional attention to detail regarding physical layout compliance, strict document control, and clear communication under tight project deadlines.
• Proven ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, manage technical risk, and provide clear engineering direction.
• DOE Q Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness and capability to work 100% onsite at designated project locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design interfaces across multidisciplinary teams and security subsystems.
• Coordinate with designers of record, subcontractors, and facility operations through the full engineering lifecycle.
• Manage document control, submittals, RFIs, and field changes from the job site.
• Monitor cost engineering and progress tracking using project controls software.
• Provide technical resolution for field conflicts while preserving security design intent.
• Oversee commissioning, turnover, closeout, and records completion for customer handover.
• Mentor junior engineers on-site in infrastructure delivery and security compliance.
