Job summary

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure Hardware Engineering team seeks a Senior Hardware Technician to perform hands-on lab work including PCB rework, server configuration and bring-up, and hardware validation in an on-site Burlington, MA lab.

You will operate with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, document results, and collaborate with engineers to improve lab throughput, quality, and readiness for ongoing hardware programs.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in electronics labs or data center hardware.
• Experience soldering and PCB rework (through-hole/SMT).
• Experience assembling, configuring, troubleshooting, and validating servers/hardware.
• Follow procedures for firmware updates, OS installation, and hardware validation.
• Document test results clearly and maintain lab readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCB and hardware rework using standard lab tools.
• Modify boards and replace components to support hardware sustaining and qualification.
• Follow ESD and safety procedures; keep tools and work area ready.
• Assemble and configure servers per documented requirements (CPU, DIMMs, PCIe cards, etc.).
• Update firmware and install operating systems; validate basic health checks.
• Maintain lab infrastructure (racks, PDUs, switches, cabling) and support calibration/maintenance.
• Record actions and communicate results to engineers or technicians.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve lab throughput and methods.
