Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for on-site support at NSWC Crane to develop, integrate, and test a next‑generation hypersonic missile system. You will troubleshoot HWIL environments, perform real‑time simulations, and ensure weapon‑system level performance verification with hands‑on hardware.

The role requires on‑site work, interim secret clearance to start, and collaboration with system engineers, software developers, and lab operators to readiness reviews and lab configuration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related hardware discipline, 2+ years of experience.
• Experience with HWIL environments or real-time test systems.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose electrical and hardware failures in complex systems.
• Strong understanding of networks, message flows, and communication protocols.
• Experience with real-time simulation/test frameworks such as iHawk, Speedgoat, RT-Linux.
• Interim secret clearance to start, ability to obtain secret clearance.
• Ability to work 100% on-site at NSWC Crane.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues in HWIL testbeds with sensors, avionics, and embedded computing.
• Identify root causes for component failures, timing anomalies, or degraded signals.
• Conduct fault isolation across hardware, simulations, and networked components.
• Perform electrical verification and wiring/cabling checks; evaluate line integrity and grounding.
• Support integration of new missile subsystems and lab hardware.
• Analyze networks to ensure correct signal transmission and timing.
• Monitor real-time execution timelines and resolve timing issues.
• Document troubleshooting steps and collaborate with engineers and test operators.
