Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead on-site field execution for complex, secure federal facilities. This role focuses on managing schedule, cost, and subcontractor coordination from mobilization to substantial completion on DOE/NNSA projects.

Ideal candidates will have 12+ years in construction management, experience with ICD 705 and IBC H-2, and the ability to manage security-controlled environments. Candidates must be US citizens and willing to travel 80–100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of construction management experience on secure/high-hazard/federal programs.
• Direct field experience with fixed-price design-build within industrial or institutional projects.
• Knowledge of ICD 705 security construction requirements and DOE/NNSA/IBC rules.
• Experience coordinating construction in security-controlled environments.
• Experience with independent safety and quality functions on high-hazard sites.
• US Citizen required.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day field construction execution and sequencing for secure, high-hazard spaces.
• Coordinate subcontractor and specialty-trade activities and progress tracking.
• Manage interface between shell conditions and security buildout against design intent.
• Coordinate security clearance timing for sensitive areas and workers.
• Collaborate with Site Safety and Health Officer and Quality Control Manager.
• Coordinate across structural, mechanical/HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and security teams to resolve RFIs.
• Manage field budget, change orders, and cost reporting.
• Maintain and update field schedule and mitigate risks.
• Lead field coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Support commissioning with field access and sequencing for completion.
• Provide monthly progress reports to leadership and clients.
