Job summary

Elevate Therapy Company in Lansing, MI is seeking a School Social Worker to join our clinician-owned team. This full-time, on-site role provides direct in-person counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to students within a collaborative school environment.

You will conduct assessments, develop individualized intervention plans, participate in IEP meetings, coordinate family resources, and document progress while upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Appropriate Michigan licensure and eligibility to work as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
• Experience providing social-emotional, behavioral, and counseling support to students in a school setting.
• Knowledge of special education processes, including IEPs, evaluations, documentation, and school-based service delivery.
• Ability to conduct assessments, develop individualized interventions, and support students with a range of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with educators, families, caregivers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, documentation, time-management, and organizational skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices.
• Ability to work in person in the Lansing, Michigan area and provide compassionate, inclusive, student-centered support.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, in-person services to students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support.
• Conduct assessments, develop and implement intervention plans, and monitor student progress in collaboration with educators and multidisciplinary teams.
• Actively engage families and caregivers, coordinate community resources, and participate in IEP and other school-based meetings to support student success.
• Maintain clear documentation, adhere to ethical and legal standards, and contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate.
