Job summary

MP Systems seeks a Health and Safety Specialist to support development, coordination and implementation of safety programs for a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include site visits, enforcing safety standards, accident investigations, and delivering safety training to field crews. The role emphasizes hazard recognition, documentation, and timely corrective actions to prevent incidents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Safety (or related field) preferred.
• 5+ years experience in safety and occupational health.
• 3-5 years experience in an office environment with varied duties.
• Prior experience in electrical or construction field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and safety practices to help prevent injuries.
• Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures per OSHA, state, local, and company standards.
• Visit jobsites to observe field operations, monitor compliance, and encourage hazard recognition.
• Notify management of safety violations and help ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Provide field crews with safety signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to control access to hazards.
• Respond to safety-related questions from employees and supervisors as a knowledgeable resource.
• Participate in accident investigations, contribute to root cause analysis, and support prevention strategies.
• Help prepare documentation for accident reports, insurance claims, and safety reviews.
• Assist in ensuring all jobsite safety, first aid, and fire prevention equipment is present and working.
• Support documentation and submission of all required safety records, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct weekly safety orientations and support integration into safety culture.
• Assist with development and scheduling of safety talks and monthly topics.
• Deliver on-the-job training in areas such as aerial lift and forklift after training.
• Coordinate contractor safety training and start meetings with safety focus.
• Participate in accident review meetings at branch or company level as needed.
• Participate in pre-construction safety planning with site visits and site-specific safety plans.
