Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Safety Lead to champion site safety and customer service on our Utah site. The role blends proactive safety leadership with a strong focus on external relations, ensuring every employee returns home safely while customers and contractors receive world-class service.

You will balance technical safety expertise with a customer-first mindset, driving a culture of compliance and service excellence on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
• ACI Field Testing Level I Certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum 1+ years in Construction, Heavy Building Material, or Asphalt; 2+ years in Aggregate preferred.
• Strong safety knowledge and MSHA compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety walks and inspections to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
• Investigate near-misses and incidents; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure site MSHA and internal Guardian Angel safety standards are followed.
• Coordinate safety orientations for new hires, contractors, and visitors for an asphalt/industrial environment.
• Oversee inspection and maintenance of PPE, fire suppression systems, and first-aid supplies.
• Assist management in developing and updating Safe Operating Procedures.
• Facilitate on-site safety meetings and organize safety trainings.
• Act as primary on-site contact for customers and haulage contractors, resolving safety and logistics issues with professionalism.
• Support driver and site operations by coordinating safe loading/unloading and access.
