Job summary

Martin Marietta’s Safety Lead role focuses on combining operational safety with top-tier customer service at the Mount Vernon site. You will represent the company on-site, ensuring every employee returns home safely while delivering world-class service to customers, vendors, and contractors.

The role blends technical safety expertise with a customer-first mindset to foster a culture where compliance and service excellence go hand-in-hand.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Construction, Heavy Building Material, or Asphalt.
• 2+ years of Aggregate focused experience preferred.
• ACI Field Testing Level I Certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site-wide adherence to MSHA and internal safety standards.
• Conduct daily high-visibility safety walks and inspections.
• Lead reporting and investigation of near-misses or incidents; perform root-cause analysis.
• Review truck washout areas for drainage, walking surfaces, and lighting.
• Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for new hires, contractors, and visitors.
• Oversee inspection and maintenance of PPE, fire suppression, and first-aid supplies.
• Assist management in developing and updating Safe Operating Procedures.
