Job summary

Fullstack is seeking a Software Engineer to build the backend infrastructure for a real-time trading platform. You will design and ship services handling live market data, orchestrate cross-venue integrations, and process high-throughput event streams.

You will work across blockchain execution environments, data pipelines, API services, and deployment automation to ensure fast, reliable execution for traders in volatile markets.

Qualifications

• Production Rust: ownership, lifetimes and async programming; debugging across the stack.
• Systems programming: databases, networks, concurrency; performance tradeoffs.
• Async & concurrency: Tokio experience; channels vs locks; high throughput.
• Database proficiency: relational, time-series and key-value stores; indexing.
• API design: REST or gRPC; type safety, error handling and observability.
• Performance mindset: profiling before optimizing; allocation patterns.
• Production operations: Docker, monitoring, reliability-focused practice.
• In-person collaboration: thrives in high-bandwidth, in-person work.
• Work authorization: United States work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services powering a real-time trading platform.
• Design and ship services for live market data and cross-venue integrations.
• Develop distributed systems with asynchronous processing and state machines.
• Process live data streams via WebSocket and coordinate actions across venues.
• Create event pipelines and time-series data schemas for fast queries.
• Build REST and WebSocket APIs with emphasis on millisecond responses.
• Profile and optimize Rust code; deploy containerized services.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for zero-downtime deployments.
• Collaborate with blockchain and product teams to ensure reliability.
